About the Collin County Buyers Syndicate

The Collin County Buyer’s Syndicate was created in 2011 by the Collin County Junior Livestock Show Board of Directors. The group of Ag Teachers, County Agents, and other Agricultural Stakeholders had the desire for Ag Students in Collin County to be rewarded for their efforts with County Show Projects.

This group sought to raise money so that the champion animals and projects exhibited at the Collin County Junior Livestock Show would receive a larger payday. After months of planning, the first Collin County Buyer’s Syndicate Gala was held. In the inaugural year, enough funds were raised at the county-wide steak dinner to purchase the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion animals. FFA chapters and the 4H club in Collin County work together to build ag mechanics projects and receive local donations to be auctioned off at the yearly Gala. Each year the event has grown in number of attendees and money raised. Currently, CCBS is able to purchase Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, Breed Champion, Reserve Breed Champion, and 1st place projects.

To date, the CCBS Gala has been responsible for raising and giving back close to a million dollars to the Ag Youth of Collin County. These efforts have provided students with post-secondary opportunities to further their Academic Careers and development as leaders in our community. This program's success is driven by support of Community Based Business' and people who want to give back for the promise of a better tomorrow.
